Urban planning forms the material and spatial environment of residential development, a city, a village, and spatially organizes the landscape of extensive settlement systems.
New problems of urban environment planning have been introduced by the digital environment and, in particular, by the unprecedented speed of its development. The qualitative leap in the speed of development and, as a consequence, the multiple socio-technological transformations during a single human lifetime make it extremely difficult to plan the development of urban infrastructure not only in the long term, but already in the medium term and even in the immediate perspective.
